Reports via FortiAnalyzer

Better reporting lives on FortiAnalyzer: - Fleet-wide reports (all FortiGates). - Drill-downs from chart to underlying logs. - Many more templates.

See Send Logs to FortiAnalyzer.

Useful Report Types

  • Top Talkers / Bandwidth Hogs — who's using the most traffic.
  • Blocked URLs / Apps — what Web Filter / App Control blocked.
  • VPN Usage — who connected, when, how long.
  • Threat Summary — AV/IPS hits over time.

CLI Equivalent

Reports are GUI-only on FortiGate (FortiAnalyzer has CLI tools).

Common Issues

  • Report empty. Source logs not on disk (logged elsewhere). Use FortiAnalyzer.
  • PDF rendering fails. Disk near full, or temp space lacking.
  • Scheduled report not sent. Email config issue. See Configure Email Alerts.
