Reports via FortiAnalyzer¶
Better reporting lives on FortiAnalyzer: - Fleet-wide reports (all FortiGates). - Drill-downs from chart to underlying logs. - Many more templates.
See Send Logs to FortiAnalyzer.
Useful Report Types¶
- Top Talkers / Bandwidth Hogs — who's using the most traffic.
- Blocked URLs / Apps — what Web Filter / App Control blocked.
- VPN Usage — who connected, when, how long.
- Threat Summary — AV/IPS hits over time.
CLI Equivalent¶
Reports are GUI-only on FortiGate (FortiAnalyzer has CLI tools).
Common Issues¶
- Report empty. Source logs not on disk (logged elsewhere). Use FortiAnalyzer.
- PDF rendering fails. Disk near full, or temp space lacking.
- Scheduled report not sent. Email config issue. See Configure Email Alerts.
