Create a Time Group¶
A Time Group is a set of one or more time ranges (start/end time, days of week, days of month, months). It's the building block used by Time Conditions and Outbound Routes to enforce schedules.
Before You Start¶
- You know the schedule you want to encode (e.g. Mon-Fri 8 AM – 5 PM).
Steps¶
- Go to System Attributes → Time Groups.
- Click Add Time Group.
- Fill in:
- Description — e.g.
Business Hours M-F 8-5.
- Description — e.g.
- Add Time Group Definitions. Each row is one range:
- Time to Start / Time to Finish — 24-hour, e.g.
08:00/17:00. Leave both blank for "all day." - Week Day Start / Week Day Finish — e.g.
MondaytoFriday. - Month Day Start / Month Day Finish — leave at
-for "any day of month." - Month Start / Month Finish — leave at
-for "any month."
- Time to Start / Time to Finish — 24-hour, e.g.
- Click + to add additional rows for split schedules (e.g. one row M-F 8-12, another M-F 13-17 if you have a lunch break to exclude).
- Click Submit.
- Click Apply Config.
Verify¶
Open a Time Condition that uses this Time Group and call into it during/outside the configured hours. Behavior should follow the schedule.
Common Issues¶
- Lunch hour split. If you want to close 12-1, you need TWO rows: one 08:00-12:00 M-F, another 13:00-17:00 M-F. A single 08:00-17:00 row covers the whole day.
- Saturday hours forgotten. Time Groups treat days as a range.
MondaytoFridaydoes NOT include Saturday — you'd need a second row for Saturday. - Time zone mismatch. Time Groups use the system clock. If the host is in UTC and you think in EST, your hours will be off by 4-5. Check
timedatectland System Admin → Advanced Settings → Timezone. - End at midnight. Use
23:59rather than24:00or00:00.
